🌐 On March 27th, Swiss Centers held the 7𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐨-𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐅𝐓𝐀) 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 in collaboration with the Swiss Consulate in Shanghai and with the support from the Universität St.Gallen (HSG), the Waigaoqiao Group, and SwissCham China.

🇨🇭🌟🇨🇭 Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the SSFTA, Istvan Koscis, Deputy Consul General of Switzerland in Shanghai, highlighted the special and continuously deepening trade relationship between China and Switzerland and the great growth of Sino-Swiss trade over the past 10 years thanks to the FTA in his keynote speech.

✅ Following the keynote addresses, Liu Jiemin, Deputy Chief of the General Tariffs Office of Shanghai Customs, provided valuable insights into newly implemented regulations spanning 2020 to 2023. Her presentation on the steps becoming an approved exporter and navigating the enhanced functionalities of the customs website proved immensely informative for attendees seeking to streamline their trade processes.

📈 Prof. Dr. Patrick Ziltener‘s presentation of the SSFTA 2023 Academic Evaluation Report  (click here to download) offered a comprehensive analysis of the agreement’s impact. While the report revealed a relatively low utilization rate of the FTA from Chinese exports, there was a notable uptick in the utilization rate in Swiss exports to China from 58% to 71%.
