“For the Swiss machine industry, China represents an important market. According to the figures for the first half of 2021, Switzerland exports products such as machinery and plant equipment worth CHF 1.47 billion to China, including Hong Kong. This represents an increase of 15.7% year-on-year and an increase of 5.5% over the 2019 level. Other export markets, such as Germany and the United States, despite strong growth as well, have not yet returned to the business levels recorded before the Covid-19 pandemic.”
