Invitation: 9th Sino-Swiss
Free Trade Agreement (SSFTA) Roundtable - April 28th, 2026.
Dear
Members, Patrons, Partners and Friends,
The Consulate General of
Switzerland in Shanghai, together with Swiss Centers and with the
support of SwissCham China and the Shanghai Xinzhuang Industry Park
will host the 9th SSFTA Roundtable. We are pleased to invite
you to participate in this event and contribute to the discussion.
Over
the past five years, geopolitical frictions, tariff disputes, and
armed conflicts have become increasingly frequent. As a result,
certain shipping routes have been disrupted, transportation times
have grown less predictable, freight costs have risen, and product
supply chains have faced significant pressure. Under these
circumstances, stabilizing supply chains has become an unavoidable
challenge for multinational companies.
In
a recent survey conducted by Swiss Centers, many companies indicated
that they are beginning to consider localized processing within the
Chinese market, as well as stocking selected components in free trade
zones to ensure continuous supply to customers in China and across
the broader Asian region. As trade models evolve, an important
question arises: how can the Sino-Swiss Free Trade Agreement (SSFTA)
be effectively leveraged in this new context? To support companies in
addressing this question, we closely follow the release of relevant
policies and regularly visit enterprises to better understand how
these measures are being implemented in practice.
This
roundtable will provide a valuable opportunity to exchange
perspectives on strengthening bilateral trade. With a practical and
solution-oriented approach, we aim to support Swiss companies in
navigating the evolving business environment by discussing the latest
policy developments alongside concrete business cases.
We
believe that open dialogue and constructive exchanges will generate
valuable insights for all participants and further strengthen the
longstanding partnership between Switzerland and China. We warmly
invite you to join us for this important discussion and contribute to
shaping the future of Sino-Swiss economic cooperation.
IMPORTANT: To ensure efficient and productive
discussion during the event, participants are invited to send their
cases with concrete questions to us before April 24th, 2026. Please
send an email to trade@swisscenters.org with your questions in English or in Chinese.
