• On July 12^th 2024, we officially opened Swiss Center in Changzhou, marking another significant milestone for the Swiss Center in the Yangtze River Delta region of China. H.E. Mr. Juerg Burri, Ambassador of Switzerland to China, Mr. Sacha Bachmann, Consul General of Switzerland in Shanghai, along with SHENG Lei, Mayor of Changzhou, city and district leaders, as well as hundreds of representatives from Sino-Swiss institutions and businesses, attended the opening ceremony, jointly witnessing this important moment.

Changzhou, located in Southern Jiangsu Province, is a key city in the Yangtze River Delta and an integral part of Shanghai’s ‘1+8’ metropolitan area. Due to its advantageous geographical location and prominent industrial clusters, Changzhou is renowned for hosting one of the highest concentrations of Swiss companies in the Yangtze River Delta. Currently, there are 42 Swiss investment companies in Changzhou, with 27 of them situated in the Changzhou National Hi-Tech District.

Therefore, our new Swiss Center in Changzhou will provide an expanded platform for Sino-Swiss business exchange and cooperation, helping Swiss SMEs to further expand their business in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Mr. SHI Xuyong, District Head of the Changzhou Xinbei District. Mr. XIAO Zhen, CEO of the Swiss Centers, delivered the opening remarks, introducing the comprehensive services offered by the Swiss Centers and outlining its development vision and mission. Mr. Nicolas Musy, Co-founder of the Swiss Centers, also warmly welcomed and thanked the guests for their presence.

Mr. PAN Dongling, Deputy Mayor of Changzhou, expressed heartfelt congratulations for the opening of the Swiss Center Changzhou and highlighted Changzhou’s strategic importance as a central city in the Yangtze River Delta region. “The Swiss Centers has effectively served as an open platform for Sino-Swiss exchange, supporting us significantly in project introduction, cultural exchange, and event organization. It has brought Changzhou and Switzerland closer, optimizing the channels for dialogue between both sides.”

Following this, H.E. Dr. Jürg Burri, Ambassador of Switzerland to China, also congratulated Swiss Center Changzhou on its opening, and envisioned a bright future for Sino-Swiss cooperation. “Now we have a Swiss ground in Changzhou”, Ambassador spoke passionately, “I wish a lot of success to the new Swiss Center”.

After the ribbon-cutting by the delegates from the Swiss Embassy (Mr. Ambassador Juerg Burri), Swiss Consulate Gerenal in Shanghai (Mr. Consul General Sacha Bachmann), Changzhou municipal government (Ms. Mayor SHENG Lei, Mr. Deputy Mayor PAN Dongling, Mr. Deputy Secretary General YAO Cheng, Mr. District Head SHI Xuyong) and the Swiss Centers (Mr. Co-founder Nicolas Musy, Mr. CEO XIAO Zhen, Ms. General Manager Yulia JIN), the guests took photos together to capture this significant moment.

Afterwards, the guests toured Swiss Center Changzhou and the Innovation Exhibition Center in the Changzhou National Hi-Tech District. They explored the latest achievements and technologies of Swiss companies in various fields and had a friendly discussion of the various possibilities and future directions of Sino-Swiss cooperation. In the afternoon, company representatives visited the industrial bases of  Hoerbiger and BYD in the Changzhou National Hi-Tech District. There, they gained further insight into the local companies’ exceptional efforts in advancing digital and intelligent upgrades and adhering to the principles of green and sustainable development.
