Event on Jingjinji: China’s Megalopolis in the Making
Swiss Centers China (SCC) together with the SwissCham Shanghai are delighted to invite you to attend our event Jing-Jin-Ji Area: China’s Megalopolis in the Making. The event will be held on Friday, April 20th, 2018 in Shanghai.
Jing-Jin-Ji – which stands for “Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei” – is a central plank of the China’s economic development plan over the next century. The numbers released by the Chinese Governments are promising – 24 intercity railways, 10,000 additional miles of rail lines, vast investment in infrastructure, connecting 130 million people. Concluded a more coordinated development and better environmental plan over a wider area.
The further development, challenges and advantages of being located in this region will be discussed by our speakers.

Mr. Erwin LUETHI
Deputy Consul General of Switzerland in Shanghai
Mr. Erwin Luethi is the Head of the Cultural, Education and Media Section of the Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai since April 2016. He started his career with the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in 1979 and was the first Head of Swiss Business Hub China. After four years at the Swiss Embassy in Pretoria where he directed again the newly established Swiss Business Hub Southern Africa, he returned to Asia. |

Ms. TANG Yan
Associate Professor, Tsinghua University School of Architecture
Prof. Yan Tang beside of working as an Associate Professor at the Tsinghua University School of Architecture, she also had the role as the key planner for the Master plan of Beijing’s sub-center, Tongzhou. Furthermore she was the project leader for the town planning of the Beichen District in Tianjin and she coordinates the spatial development strategies of the Jing-Jin-Ji Region. She will introduce her view on the transformation of the Jing-Jin-Ji megalopolis and will focus her presentation on the corridor between Beijing and Tianjin. |

Mrs. Toni LANG
Vice General Manager, Tianjin Wuqing Development Area General Corporation
Mrs. Toni Lang has made enormous contribution to Tianjin Wuqing Development Area General Corporation since July, 2002. Mrs Lang started her career as a staff member in Investment Department, and then was promoted to Vice Director in February, 2009. In the following years, she worked as Director of Investment Department and Member of the Working Committee, which has laid a solid foundation for her to shoulder the responsibility of Vice General Manager since July 2016. Mrs. Lang graduated from Sichuan International Studies University and gained a bachelor’s degree on English Language and Culture. |

Mr. Haitao Zhou
General Manager, ESM Vibration Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.
Mr. Haitao Zhou is the General Manager of ESM Vibration Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd since October 2017. He was the first employee in China since 2008 for the German company ESM Energie- und Schwingungstechnik Mitsch GmbH. Mr. Zhou set up the ESM Beijing Representative office in 2009 and worked as China Chief Representative till end of September 2017. Mr. Zhou obtained his engineering education from Tsinghua University in Beijing and RWTH Aachen in Germany. He started his career from ZF Friedrichshafen AG in Germany as International Management Trainee since 2005 and then worked as Technical Administration Manager at ZF Marine Shanghai till end of 2007.

Mr. Zhen XIAO
CEO, Swiss Centers China
Mr. Zhen Xiao is the CEO of Swiss Centers China. Mr. Xiao obtained his engineering education from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He then worked in Singapore and in Switzerland for more than 15 years as an engineer, researcher, and manager. He has been working with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne since 2005 as China Relation Coordinator. Over the past 7 years, he has supported and advised many Swiss companies in business development in China, and successfully expanded the Swiss Center cluster with new facilities and services. |
